Flags in the Library

The history of flags in the library began with Dr. Scotten. He purchased flags of the countries that the Minnesingers performed in. Since that time, the Rotary Club has presented the library with a flag from the country of a student they were sponsoring. The Wampanoag Tribe has presented the library with their tribal flag. Jay Schwartz, former bookkeeper at the high school, presented the library with a 911 American Flag that has the names of emergency service personnel who gave their lives during the 911 crisis. A group of Brazilian students presented the library with a flag from Brazil. A few teachers have presented the library with flags from Ireland (Mrs. Weintraub), Japan (Ms. Kurtz), Argentina (Mrs. Ditchfield). Ivory Coast (Janice and Leo Frame).
